It’s always a gas to work with Tim Hayes, who used to run Seattle’s Fallout Records– Tim’s now orchestrating art shows and music at Snoose Junction Part Dieu in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood– Snoose is a snazzy joint that serves up high-qual Italian + booze + absinthe + vintage vinyl– I’ll have 18 recent paintings on their walls from September 10 through October 7– Opening night is Friday, Sept 10 at 7 PM–
A postcard design I did for San Francisco’s Laughing Squid a few years ago– I still have a small stash, send your address for a freebie–

I recently drew some diseased Norwegians to illustrate an article about the rampant complacency and conformity in Norway for Oslo’s Natt & Dag magazine– The illustrations were based on Norwegian Facebook photos, and it seems some of the folks featured in those photos saw the magazine and were none too pleased! The magazine received a letter from a lawyer regarding the illos, and they are now appearing on the Natt & Dag website with black censor bars over their eyes! Original art is available here and here—
Here’s a look at my piece for Roq La Rue‘s latest group show, “Tiger Tiger Burning Bright”– I call it “The Tiger & The Princess”– The show opens Friday, May 14, and is up through June 30– Also in the show are Audrey Kawasaki, Robert Hardgrave, Travis Louie, Lisa Petrucci, Isabel Samaras, Robert Burden, Jason D’Aquino, Nouar, Angelique Houtcamp, Bob Dob, Anthony Ausgang, Ann-Marie Manker, Yumiko Kayukawa, and Jaw Cooper– Get a poster print of this art here—

This just in from Larri of Mooseheart Faith: their Memories of the Future album, which was mastered 10 years ago but never released because of “creative differences” with the record company, is now available from iTunes– Here is a look at the front and back cover I did– Also now available from iTunes is Mooseheart’s Magic Square of the Sun, one of my favorite psych albums ever recorded– Go with the Stellar Groove!
Commissioned pen & ink portrait of actor Harry Dean Stanton, who currently plays Fundamentalist Mormon elder Roman Grant on HBO’s Big Love– Get a poster print of this art here—
Pen & ink portrait of May Lillie, a bronc-ridin’, buffalo-herdin’, sharp-shooter from the early 1900s– She once said “Let any normally healthy woman who is ordinarily strong screw up her courage and tackle a bucking bronco, and she will find the most fascinating pastime in the field of feminine athletic endeavor. There is nothing to compare, to increase the joy of living, and once accomplished, she’ll have more real fun than any pink tea or theater party or ballroom ever yielded.”
My psychotic pal Kevin can’t resist a good deal on a 24-track recorder– He recently drove down to Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA and bought the very recorder they used to tape music and hours of Rev. Schuller’s watered-down psychobabble– Then Kevin got it in his head that he needed a custom-painted Robert Schuller tape reel to properly anoint his new machine– Of course I was up for the job– Behold, the Holy and Most Sacred Reel of Saint Robert!
I’ll have a dozen brand new Pop Cult paintings and who knows what else at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle from September 11 till October 3– All of the new paintings were done using a technique that simulates the grid effect of the “sticker paintings” I did for Roq La Rue years ago–
My Maple Valley homie Metal Marty got the one and only Lemmy Kilmister to sign a gicleé print when he crossed paths with him at a Head Cat show in Ballard– I owe you one, Marty! This portrait is available as a poster print here—
I’ll have an exclusive blend of paintings on canvas and framed goodies at Jinx Art Space from May 1 through May 31– The show is called Mutant Amour, and the opening night shindig will be on Friday, May 1– A belly dancing troupe and 3 electronic music bands will be in the downstairs area, and my show will be upstairs with bro Richie Boyer spinning the punk and free jazz wax! Let’s get it on, god dammit!
Pen and ink portraits of Pulitzer winning playwrights Donald Margulies and Robert Schenkkan I did for the Winter 2009 issue of Lexus magazine, which goes out to owners of Lexus automobiles– Buy the Margulies original art here—
